We open with inquiries from Conservative MP the panel's head, who oversees the group.

She opens by providing background to the disclosed memo authored by Michael Prescott and released in a national newspaper.

"It is not my wish for the BBC tilting toward one side or the other, My only wish is for it neutral, fair and just," he declares.

Upon being questioned whether he believes the BBC is institutionally biased, Prescott responds: "Absolutely not. It is important to note, tons of stuff the BBC produces is world class - including factual and non-factual content."

However, he continues: "There exists significant effort that needs to be done at the BBC."

A further previous consultant BBC specialist interviewed by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she views the BBC very seriously and that it has a "ongoing system and lively discussion" regarding fluid and multifaceted subjects.

"Whether the BBC was ready to engage in a proper discussion and argument and take action?" she questions. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
